A Value [un]Seen
In Gallery 3 By You, the Rare collective presents 'Raw'', 'an exhibition exploring the creative process. In this related TNL! online event, three practitioners present their own vision of the singular moments, actions and ideas of the creative process, identifying values that usually remain hidden.
13 May 2021 19:30 - 21:00
Exploring the creative journey with three designers, Pierre Coric (artist), Karl Lenton (architect), Klaske Havik (architect/academic), A Value [un]Seen will create a space to collectively delve into the process of design: from the disciplinary to the intimate. In a PechaKucha presentation, each speaker presents 20 slides for just 20 seconds each. This format offers a rapid exchange of anecdotes, ideas and knowledge. Since the presentations are only 400 seconds (or 7 minutes) each, there is plenty of time for discussion afterwards.
Pierre Coric
Through a multiform practice mixing DIY technologies, crafts, and audience participation, Pierre Coric investigates the processes through which meaningless elements sometimes become meaningful ensembles, as well as the borders and the ties between these fluctuating states. His work originates from conceptual wanderings that are materialised into installations, performances or small crafted pieces. Coric finds his inspiration in various fields, including languages, computer sciences, boats, textiles, rivers, highways, forests, electronics and bacteria.
Karl Lenton
Karl Lenton spent six years in architectural education in Leeds and London, winning the John Cass Award for Social Entrepreneurship in 2014. He is the creative director of Seeds and a co-founder of the architectural practice Burr Lenton Architecture (BLA). Lenton was shortlisted for the RIBA South West Regional Live Project Award in 2014 and long listed for the RIBAJ MacEwen Award: Architecture for The Common Good in 2016 for his work on projects for vulnerable people.
