Het Nieuwe Instituut
3015 CB Rotterdam
In September 2018, the exhibition-project Steve Bannon: A Propaganda Retrospective by Jonas Staal, comes to an end at Het Nieuwe Instituut. Yet, this first retrospective of the propaganda films and cultural and political work of Stephen K. Bannon and its impact on Trumpism and the international alt-right in the US and Europe, will continue circulating in the form of a publication with the same title. The book, designed by Studio Remco van Bladel, presents materials from the exhibition and critically reflects upon the conversations it triggered throughout 2018 in public debates, conferences, interviews, and informal meetings. How to understand propaganda and propaganda art today? And how to counter the dominance of the cultural narrative of Trumpism and the growing power of the international alt-right?
Before the Thursday Night you can grab a bite to eat with the speakers and staff of Het Nieuwe Instituut. At 18:00 Het Nieuwe Café will serve soup with bread or a quiche with salad. Dinner vouchers are available for € 7.50 up to a day before the particular Thursday Night event via the Tickets link.
