Fashion
30 January 2020 20:00 - 22:00
The Emperor's clothes. Say yes to the dress. Or a Rotterdam 'Pakkie Deftig'. An evening full of fabrics made from plants, clay or enhanced with technology, smart slow fashion and colourful catwalks.
Berend Brus
Berend Brus is a fashion designer inspired by people who create their own reality and are driven by social issues. Although his work touches on serious subjects, it is always accompanied by a wink and a great sense of humour. His collection QUEER debuted at Amsterdam Fashion Week 2019.
Marga Weimans
Marga Weimans is an international fashion house working with disciplines including architecture and visual art to investigate the role of Black women in our complex global culture. In the Source of Power Collection, Weimans adds her view on the eccentricity, political inaccuracy, and dignity present in the analysis of contemporary Black women.
Jessica van Halteren
Jessica van Halteren's studio MULAS Hybrid Haus takes a critical view of today's fashion industry, tackling the problem of textile surplus and waste with a convincing, artistic, and substantive mission. Her work shows the liberation of clothing from the mountains of waste by giving it a new life and reusing it again and again. In doing so, she holds a mirror up to us to shed light on aesthetics and consumer behaviour.
