Creative Urge
31 May 2018 20:00 - 22:00
From passion to obsession. BNO IMG LAB presents artists who do not distinguish between living to work and working to live. Artists who are unstoppable when it comes to their great love for images, products, and ideas. Artists who do not put a brake on themselves or their creations, but where does this unbridled love for the design profession come from?
Studio Neck
Studio Mals makes colourful, imaginative and stylistic films and illustrations. Their work is tangible and preferably handmade with a conceptual approach, in which food and machines often play a leading role.
Florentine Hofman
Florentijn Hofman is known for his playful, large works of art, with which he takes over the public space. He became well-known all over the world with his Rubber Duck, a strongly enlarged inflatable yellow rubber duck that has floated around Europe, Asia and Australia.
Rubes Steaman
Ruben Steeman is a graphic designer but draws his whole life with great creative urge. Since 2002, every evening, even when he is busy, sick, broke or nauseous, he has been drawing something related to that day. This resulted in thousands of drawings and a very thick book. Inspiration doesn't exist according to him, a lot of flying hours do.
Klaas Kuiken
Klaas Kuiken is a product designer, although in his workshop he looks more like a curious inventor. His work comes from a fascination with how to bring together the worlds of craftsmanship and mass production. His view of materials, production techniques and production processes is refreshing, surprising and charming.
